Timeline: commissions are only available January - June each year. The process will go as:

  • Initial inquiry

  • Discussion with Britt to finalize ideas and general scope of project (phone or Zoom)

  • 50% non-refundable deposit paid

  • Britt will create a mock-up sketch. 1 round of revisions if necessary.

  • Final 50% fee paid

  • Britt will carve and print the custom design. Prints take 5 days to dry. Once dried, she will then package and ship the 5 (or more) prints to you. Packing and shipping are included in the above (or agreed upon) cost. Local pick up is not available.

  • The whole process from initial inquiry to receiving the prints takes about 6 weeks, unless otherwise discussed. A rush job can be purchased ($100) depending on the circumstances.

Additional Notes

  • Britt keeps the carved linocut block. It will be stored safely in her studio, so if you ever want to purchase more prints, she has immediate access to it.

  • Britt retains the copyright to all work, unless agreed upon. A lifetime transfer of copyright is considered for commercial uses only, depending on the situation.

  • Britt rarely does portraits of people, but is open to discussing it

  • Preferred subject matter: animals, nature, scenery, buildings, outer space

  • Britt has the right to decline any commission request if it does not feel aligned to her art practice

  • Default ink color (1) = black or raw umber (dark brown). Britt does not do multi-color (i.e. multi-block) commissions

  • Default paper = tan color, 80 lb (118 g/m2). Other papers are available but must be discussed with Britt prior to carving the block.

  • Since each print is pressed by hand, each print will be unique

  • *Limited edition = there is a finite number of prints (prints will be numbered, example 1/50). Open edition = there is no cap on how many prints can be made, and prints will not be numbered.
